Southeast Asia is blessed to
have the rainy season which comes to Thailand from May - November. This
doesn't mean there is rain daily for those six months, but rather the
chances for rain is much higher. The hot/ dry season is March - May so
we all look forward to cooling off with the coming rain. Some travel
books say that certain months in get rain, but having been there for a
few years, we have learnt that these "rainy" months varies with each
season and with each year. For the past few years due to the ever
changing global weather pattern, Ko Samui have not gotten the rain it
needs so we are very conscious of our water usage. The days during the
rainy season can vary from days of sunshine to brisk thunderstorm,
cooler weather and ocean, and more clouds and wind. The days of heavy
down poor "moonsoon" are not as often as they used to be. We love Ko
Samui during all of its seasons, but you can check to see what the
weather prediction holds for when you plan to visit. Check
